If you always wanted to become a Cyclocross commissaire or know someone who may be interested – now is your chance!

Cycling BC will host a Provincial Level C Cyclocross Commissaire course on Saturday, November 19, 2022. An optional mentored practicum component is scheduled for November 20, 2022.

Led by UCI Commissaire, Jim Bratrud, this in-person class will take place at Cycling BC’s office, located at #116 – 8337 Eastlake Drive, Burnaby, BC.

Running from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM on Saturday, the course will address the commissaires’ roles and responsibilities, regulations, bike check, and course design and features. How to establish the number of laps, how to score, 80% rule application, tech zone management, results, and penalties will all be covered in the second half of the day.

On Sunday, November 20, participants will have the opportunity to turn theory into practice, gaining first-hand race experience while assisting the panel of commissaires working the TriCity #3 race in Coquitlam. Jim and the officials assigned to the event will be your mentors. This will count toward your certification requirements. Come prepared for any and all weather conditions – it’s cyclocross after all!

Thanks to Cycling BC, this course is free for all participants. (Ages 16+)
