Jakroo Canada Supports Cycling Development In British Columbia

Jakroo Canada has deep connections to bicycle racing in Canada through their  sales and marketing  director Ron Hayman. Ron was one the early Canadian pioneers, having started racing in Vancouver in the late 1960’s. He progressed through ranks, first on the track, and then the road. Eventually he went to  Europe–spending 3 seasons in Belgium, learning the sport in the toughest of racing environments. Eventually  Ron returned  to North America to captain the newly formed 7-Eleven team. This team was instrumental  in changing the course of Canadian and USA cycling.

After retirement from racing,  Ron has continued to give back to the sport.  First he passed on his knowledge as national coach and director of national racing programs.  More recently he has hosted countless training camps, hosted and contributed to coaching courses, organized road and off-road bike races, and currently organizes the BC Youth Cycling Championships.

“I am proud to align Jakroo with Cycling BC.  Their focus is on youth; increasing the numbers that enter the sport, and creating opportunities to develop their skills. This is crucial work – the consequences will soon be evident.   Jakroo plays a small part, providing Cycling BC teams with high quality clothing.”
