Thanking Christine Reid for her leadership at Cycling BC

To our Cycling BC members and community,

We are sad to share that after one year in the role, Cycling BC’s Executive Director, Christine Reid, has decided to step down. The Board received this news with regret, as Christine brought energy, dedication, and vision to the organization.

During her time with us, Christine made a great impact. She played a key role in delivering a balanced budget in 2024, our first in many years. She reached out to members across the community, including critics, to rebuild relationships and strengthen collaboration. She also worked closely with the Board and stakeholders to help shape a new strategic plan that will guide Cycling BC in the years ahead.

We understand and respect Christine’s decision, and are deeply grateful for her contributions during her time with us. We also recognize that her departure is a challenge for our organization, and a reminder that there is still much to do as we continue rebuilding our organizational culture.

As we prepare to launch our refined mission, vision, and strategic plan, our focus is on continuing to strengthen collaboration, nurturing a positive and inclusive culture, and ensuring our work best serves members, clubs, teams, and event organizers. We will be continuing to engage our community through further conversations with members to co-create a positive culture of collaboration that allows us to bring about meaningful and lasting change together.

We are also grateful that Christine has generously offered to remain in her role until a successor is appointed. The search for a new Executive Director will begin in the coming days.
