Cycling BC Cyclocross Race Camp – (12 spots)
Are you a Cycling BC youth club member and looking forward to this year’s cyclocross race season? Or maybe you have raced other disciplines and would like to get ready to try your first cyclocross race? Come spend the week with Cycling BC’s High-Performance coaches and learn from some of the top riders in the province how to train to achieve your best performances this year!
Each day starts with 3hrs of cyclocross-specific skills and fitness with afternoon activities range from mountain bike turns, BMX pumping, bike maintenance workshops, race-day nutrition and recovery and an introductory velodrome session. Activities take place in Port Coquitlam, and visit special locations like the Burnaby Velodrome and the Ridge Meadows BMX Track. This camp is led by 2012 Canadian Criterium Champion and Cycling BC Coach, Ben Chaddock, with celebrity coach visits from some of Canada’s top off-road racers.
A special drop-off/pick-up is available at Sir John Franklin Elementary (250 Skeena St, Vancouver, BC V5K 4N8), just off the 2nd narrows bridge at 7:45 am sharp, and 5pm, each day. Please request via email.
If you need help finding a cyclocross bike, please contact us. Cycling BC provides bicycle storage for the week (optional) and all transportation during the camp. Cycling BC’s Cyclocross Race camp is operating in partnership with the City of Port Coquitlam to help introduce local youth to the benefits of cycling.
