Cycling BC presents Learn to Race ROAD54

This 2-hour skills and riding clinic is designed for road cyclists who want to learn how to ride in a group and feel more confident in a competitive riding environment. The clinic will take place in tandem with Cycling BC’s annual road instructor training weekend.

Skills covered include:

  • Touch tires (on grass)
  • Shoulder bump (on grass)
  • Corner with a partner
  • Follow a wheel
  • Introduction to pacelines (single, rotation, combo)
  • Stand & Pedal (introduction to sprint/climbing)

The session occurs in controlled paved and grass areas. Flat pedals and running shoes are strongly encouraged for the morning skill session. Let us know during registration if you wish to borrow a pair of flat pedals.

Participants who complete the clinic may earn experience credits towards their Category 4 upgrade.  Those who exceed expectations may be permitted to upgrade to Category 4 without the normally required three race starts.
