Okanagan Spring Road Clinics 2019: Time Trial

These clinics are for riders 13 years and older and will give riders a chance to learn specific skills involved with each skill mentioned. These clinics lead up to the Hayman Classic Youth Stage Race in Penticton on May 24-26, 2019.

Location: Kelowna, BC

April 13 – Climbing
May 5 – Criteriums
May 11 – Time Trials

Clinic Summary:

• Based out of Kelowna
• These clinics are open to targeted athletes first, invited athletes second
• Maximum 10 participants
• Two coaches if there are 6 or more riders
• Specific skills and drills at each clinic
• All schedules below are tentative and subject to change

Clinic “Rules”:

• Punctuality is a must! – 10 am ride, means we roll at 10 am
• Having a machine in working order is a must
• Everyone respects everyone
• Help where you can
• Clean up after yourself
• Safety
• Have fun!

What to bring:

• Road bike
• High vis rechargeable led rear light for sure and front as well if you have it
• 3 water bottles
• Energy drink
• Snacks
• Lunch
• Pump
• Multi-tool
• Spare tubes
• CO2

May 11 – Time Trial

Race of truth, race against the clock. In this clinic we will look find a road that is as close to the Hayman classic course. We will look at position on the bike, gear selection, areas to make up time, pacing and equipment choices. ** we might go to see the course if enough interest **

9:00 AM – Group Meeting
10:00 AM – TT Recon
11:00 AM – TT position
12:00 PM – Lunch
1:00 PM – TT Ride 1
2:00 PM – Cadence, gearing, effort
3:00 PM – TT Ride 2
4:00 PM – Bike Maintenance Clinic
