British Columbia’s cycling talent was on full display at the 2026 Canadian National Road Championships (Elite/U23/Junior/U17/Para), where BC athletes brought home four national titles and additional podium finishes across multiple categories.
Championship Results
The BC contingent was led by a quartet of national champions:
- Nadia Gontova (Liv-Alula-Jayco) — Elite Women’s Time Trial
- Jonas Walton (CIC Pro Cycling Academy) — U23 Men’s Time Trial
- Mel Pemble — Women’s C3 Time Trial
- Maggie Coles-Lyster (Human Powered Health) — Elite Women’s Road Race

Other strong performances from BC riders included Keaton Schisler (Cycling BC) of North Vancouver taking silver in the Junior Men’s Road Race, and Campbell Parrish earning bronze in the U23 Men’s Time Trial.
A special shoutout to Cycling BC team rider Jack Kennedy of Vancouver, along with two others who sacrificed their own result in the JR/ U17 men’s road race to stop for an injured rider, called for assistance, and waited until help arrived—a truly Canadian display of sportsmanship.
Every rider who crossed the start line—regardless of whether they earned a maple leaf jersey, achieved a personal best, or simply gave their all that day—demonstrated dedication and hard work that inspire us all.
Congratulations to all our BC athletes.
