Cycling BC is excited to welcome Tim Sherstobitoff to our team as the new Associate Director, Sport Performance, Coaching and Education.
Tim brings more than a decade of experience across provincial and national cycling, combining leadership, coaching and technical expertise, and a deep understanding of the sport in British Columbia and Canada.
“The search process was extensive, and Tim is a natural fit for this important role on our team,” said Chris Cook, Executive Director of Cycling BC. “This is a strategic leadership and systems development position, and Tim’s passion and exemplary experience in athlete and program development, events, and coaching will strengthen cycling at every level and every discipline. We’re looking forward to providing greater clarity and support across the pathways from grassroots to high performance, and the systems in place to support the coaches, officials, clubs, and athletes at every age to achieve their ambitions.”
Most recently, Tim served as Program Manager with Triathlon BC, overseeing coach and officials development, event operations, membership systems, communications, organizational reporting, and provincial programming. Many members of the cycling community will also know Tim through his work as the Program Director and Head Coach with the Escape Velocity DEVO Youth Cycling Program, where he helped build one of Canada’s leading youth cycling development programs.
In this new role, Tim will lead Cycling BC’s sport performance, coaching, education, and athlete development initiatives. Working with the many clubs, coaches, officials, volunteers, athletes, and partners across all disciplines, Tim will work with our team to design an informed, sustainable, and club-centred framework that strengthens pathways, events, and the connections throughout BC’s sport cycling community.
“I’m excited to join Cycling BC in this role and help strengthen and connect our systems, from grassroots participation to youth programs, to coach development and high performance pathways,” said Tim. “I care deeply about creating a positive sport environment that balances performance, community, and long-term involvement in cycling. Having come up through BC’s own racing scene myself, I know firsthand what these pathways can mean for a young rider.”
