Celebrating National Coaches Week, Sept 14-20, 2026

National Coaches Week (NCW) celebrates the positive impact coaches have on athletes, participants, and communities across Canada. This week is an opportunity to recognize coaches for the integral role they play by saying #ThanksCoach.

With in-person and virtual activities held across the country to celebrate coaching, National Coaches Week provides coaches with the recognition they deserve for the time they devote to ensuring Canadians live an active, healthy lifestyle.

In addition, and in celebration of National Coaches Week, if you are a coach or interested in becoming one, we would like to bring your attention to some coach development opportunities that are available for free or at a low cost to support you in your coaching journey.

Thank Your Coach During National Coaches Week

Take a moment to say #ThanksCoach

Supporting National Coaches Week can be as easy as sharing a social media post thanking your coach, writing a handwritten thank-you card, making a small gift for your coach, organizing a team cheer during practice or game day, having a short team huddle before or after practice to thank your coach together, or simply saying #ThanksCoach to a coach that matters to you.

Follow us on Facebook and Instagram, where we’ll be celebrating National Coaches Week and sharing #ThanksCoach messages all week long.
