Late-September sunshine, crisp mountain air, and dusty open gravel roads set the stage for a historic milestone in Cycling BC history.
The inaugural Cycling BC Gravel Provincial Championships took place in Squamish, BC, alongside the Sea2Sky Gravel Fondo hosted by Tri 1 Events on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
The Sea2Sky Gravel Fondo, which has been a staple on the Cycling BC race calendar for many years, was given the official provincial championship status and attracted riders of all levels, from seasoned Elites to emerging youth riders taking on their first provincial championship race. The race consisted of three different course lengths that were filled with tough climbs, rolling terrain, and flat-out speed on forest service gravel roads. The gravel community showed up on what proved to be a picture-perfect day in the Sea2Sky corridor.
This first pilot trial of the gravel provincial championships was an opportunity for Cycling BC to test how to best utilize existing course design, timing, safety protocols, and category distribution, while crowning champions in the fast-evolving gravel cycling discipline.
We want to extend a massive congratulations to all who rolled up to the start line and took part in the first Cycling BC Provincial Gravel Championships. A special congratulations to our inaugural provincial gravel champions.

Thanks to Our Host & The Community
A tremendous thank you goes out to Tri 1 Events and their hard-working team of organizers, marshals, medical staff, and volunteers. Hosting a provincial championship on top of an already expansive fondo is no small feat, and their dedication ensured our riders enjoyed a safe, well-supported, and unforgettable day on the trails.
To every rider who strapped on a number plate, cheered on a fellow competitor, or cheered from the sidelines: thank you. We know that trying something new comes with a few bumps along the way. We are actively collecting feedback from riders, commissaires, and event staff, and we are committed to taking those lessons from this first year to refine and elevate the BC championships. We appreciate that we’re building the future together as a community.
