Youth Mountain Bike Series

P1060453

Cycling BC is pleased to announce a new association with the Test of Metal Group of Events that will see the introduction of a BC Youth XC Mountain Bike Series. The series will be based on the Test of Metal Group’s four renowned races in Squamish.

Cycling BC will be on site at each of the Test of Metal Group of Event’s races, starting with Ore Crusher on May 10, to manage logistics for the Cycling BC youth series. Shortened courses within the famous Test of Metal on June 14, Gearjammer on July 19, and Just Another Bike Race (JABR) on August 16 make up the rest of the 2014 BC Youth XC Mountain Bike Series.

Categories:

  • U19 – Girls and Boys
  • U17 – Girls and Boys
  • U15 – Girls and Boys (14 year olds only).
  • 13 year olds and under are not eligible to race this series at this point. We are working hard to try to incorporate races for this group of riders later in the series.

Race Format

  • With the exception of Orecrusher, we will be establishing a separate finish line to work with a shorter race distance. We are aiming to have the races last between 1.5 and 2 hours
  • All racers will pre-register through the event web site.  They will not be using our categories for their registration, so just register under the most appropriate one for your age.
  • Once at the race, you will pick-up your race number / plate from the event organizer.
  • You will then need to come to the Cycling BC tent to sign-on for the Youth Race.
  • Cycling BC will take your name, team name, emergency contact phone number and race number.
  • Cycling BC will give you instruction on the finish line for the race.
  • You will start the race in accordance with the organizers start format. Cycling BC representatives will be at the designated youth finish line to take results.
  • Racers are eligible to continue on with the longer course once they have checked in with Cycling BC at the youth finish line.

Series Standing

  • Cycling BC will take the results from each race and post them on their web site. Series standings will be up-dated after each race.
  • Series winner will be announced at the end of the 4 races.
