Phoenix Velo: Training for All Ages and Abilities

front-picThe Phoenix Velo Training Group, based in Mission B.C, is a recreational volunteer-run group dedicated to bicycle racing year round. They welcome riders from all disciplines, of all ages and abilities. Phoenix Velo holds criterium races, individual time trials, cycling trips and local hill climbs in a friendly and inclusive environment. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the flat, safe closed course and develop the skills to be a faster, safer cyclist.

Phoenix Velo’s several weekly training sessions provides opportunities for the development of racing skills through weekly rides and a race series.

The premier bicycle training event in the Fraser Valley, and suitable for everyone, from beginners to National Champions! Located at Mission Raceways: Youth 5:30 – 6:30, Novice Race 6:30 – 7:00, Points racing 7:00 onwards. In the event of rain, check the Phoenix Velo Facebook Page for cancellations. Meet at 7:00 at Matsqui Park for a tempo ride.

Thursday Night Time Trials
Trials are located at Houghen Park near Coleman exit off Hwy 1 at 7:00. In the event of rain check the Phoenix Velo Facebook Page for cancellations.

Saturday Morning Speed
Every Saturday morning at 8:00 am, our head coach Bruce Wenting hosts rides on the best way to get faster on your bike.
Starts and finishes at Matsqui Park, in Abbotsford, B.C.

Sunday Morning Social
Leaves at 9:00am from Matsqui Park in Abbotsford.
We ride for a few hours, depending on the group and often stop for coffee. No one gets dropped, this is a good time to chat and have some fun riding with friends. Generally the average speed is about 25kph.
