Canada enters the final day of the Women’s Team Pursuit on Saturday, with Round 1 kicking off at 7:17 am. BC’s Laura Brown, Jasmin Glaesser, and Georgia Simmerling are slated to line up for Canada with teammate Allison Beveridge , to face off with current world and Olympic record holder Great Britain in Heat 4.
The fastest team in Canada’s heat with Great Britain will go on to ride for gold and silver against the fastest team from Heat 3 between the USA and Australia. The remaining six teams from the first round will be ranked by finishing time, with the two fastest teams lining up to race for the Olympic bronze medal.
Finals are scheduled for 12:53 pm on Saturday, August 13. The bronze medal race is scheduled for 1:07 pm, with the gold and silver medal race at 1:14 pm. All events will be streaming live on CBC.
