The Community Sport Heroes Awards program recognizes coaches, officials, mentors and administrators who have dedicated themselves to amateur sport at the community level. Since its inception in 2001, 50 Provincial Sport Organizations have honoured 536 sport volunteers in 45 different communities.
Nominations are open for volunteers who have worked hard, given it their all and have been a true hero of the sport sector. There 8 locations for this year: Williams Lake (Sept. 9th), Ashcroft (Sept. 10th), Logan Lake (Sept. 11th), Kelowna (Sept. 12th), Elkford (Sept. 25th), Burnaby (TBD), Whistler (TBD) and Nanaimo (TBD). The deadline for nominations is August 8th for Williams Lake, Ashcroft, Logan Lake and Kelowna. The deadline for Elkford is August 22nd.
