Ready to race on the track, or advance your race skills in preparation for Provincial Championships? Cycling BC and the Burnaby Velodrome Club invite youth racers aged 12 to 18 to a coached track cycling clinic at the Burnaby Velodrome. It is built for riders who are already confident riding fast in a group and want to learn how to race on the boards, from core bunch racing skills to advanced tactics. It is also ideal for experience track cyclists in preparation for the Provincial Track Championships on December 4 to 6.
Who: Youth racers aged 12 to 18 with track or road racing experience
Where: Burnaby Velodrome, 7564 Barnet Highway, Burnaby
When: Sunday, November 29, 2026, 1 pm to 5 pm
Cost: $20
This clinic is for riders who have track or road cycling experience, and want to become more confident racing on the track . You should be one of the following:
Road racers new to the track will start with a short introduction to fixed-gear riding and track basics before progressing onto the track. If you are new to cycling or have not ridden in a group before, please contact us first.
Riders are grouped by experience, to build their track skills together and push each other. Sessions will mix skill drills, race-pace efforts, and practice races.
The clinic is led by Tim Sherstobitoff and Ngaire Barraclough, both with extensive track cycling experience, from coaching youth development programs, racing on the National Team, to coaching at International Events.
The session will also include coaches completing their NCCP Skills & Tactics Practical: Track that weekend at the velodrome. This means a high coach-to-rider ratio and plenty of individual feedback.
A parent or guardian must sign a waiver for riders under 19. A Cycling BC membership is required to participate, and a Single Event License is available for non-members.
Spaces are limited. Register now!
