March 15th Update on Province-wide Restrictions for Sport

Following the BC Government’s March 15th amendment to the province-wide restrictions on outdoor gatherings, Cycling BC is updating its Return to Sport guidelines to allow adult outdoor group sport activities of up to 10 people, effective immediately. Adult indoor sport remains limited to two persons until further notice and in both cases, all participants must continue to maintain a distance of at least three metres from one another while engaged in the sport unless they are from the same household.

While this is a welcome update from the BC government, Cycling BC would like to remind members and clubs that PHO restrictions are still in place for sport, including the temporary suspension of competition, no spectators, and limits on total group size. We are anticipating a further update and more information for the sport sector in the coming weeks. In the meantime, Cycling BC encourages everyone participating in organized activities to continue following the Covid-19 safety protocols including but not limited to, daily symptom screening, collecting participant contact information for the purpose of contact tracing, and completing the Covid-19 declaration as part of the Cycling BC membership registration
