Please provide a short overview as to the reasons why you are interested in this committee.
As someone who has spent half a decade as a seasoned athlete racing at world championship events, I know what makes a race a memorable, cherished, and enjoyable event.
What skills, knowledge, qualifications, or experience would you bring that would benefit the objectives of the Committee?
In regards to the race committee, As a seasoned athlete, I've observed firsthand the operational facets of events and understand the critical elements that influence the success and inclusivity of sporting competitions. This experience has endowed me with the ability to identify gaps and opportunities within our current frameworks that, once addressed, could lead to more equitable and welcoming environments for all competitors, especially those who are neurodivergent.
I have seen the power of intentional, inclusive practices and their positive effects on athlete performance and satisfaction. Likewise, I've endured the ramifications when these elements are overlooked, often resulting in exclusion and mistreatment of athletes from diverse backgrounds. I bring this unique athletic perspective, coupled with my personal advocacy as a neurodivergent individual, to provide valuable insights into crafting and implementing effective DE&I strategies within our organization's sporting events.
