The Board is delighted to announce the appointment of two new members who have recently accepted offers to join the Board. We had two seats recently become vacant, and have now filled them. We are pleased to welcome Lister Farrar and Matthew Cooperwilliams to the Board.
Lister Farrar brings vast experience in cycling, racing and coaching. He lives in Victoria, rides, races and is a coach for the Triple Shot Cycling youth program and HopOn programs. In addition to an illustrious career, Lister has made a significant contribution to the community, and we are delighted to have him join the Board for a 1.5-year term before running for election.
Currently based in Vancouver, Matthew Cooperwilliams has a lengthy record as a successful road racer and continues to train and race regularly. Matthew has enjoyed a career as an employment lawyer and is keen to contribute to the broader cycling community. Matthew will serve a term of 2.5 years before seeking another term.
We would also like to take this opportunity to express our deep appreciation to departing Board members Travis Beatty and Tristen Chernove for their valuable contributions during their tenure.
With the support of our dedicated Board and members, we are confident in continuing to move forward in advancing our sport.
We are at a pivotal time in the evolution and improvement of Cycling BC and are excited by the prospects!
