This 1-day course is open to the public but designed for instructors preparing to lead an iRide Community program.
This special event will introduce new coaches to Cycling BC’s iRide Book of Games, an instruction manual including the cycling skill games designed by iRide. This material is an addendum to the NCCP materials taught during the Ready to Race! Basic Cycling Skills course. There is no pre-requisite to this course.
This special workshop is offered in partnership with the Canucks Autism network and offers coaches the opportunity to learn how to teach children with various learning styles. This material is not exclusive to coaches who are working with autistic children, and this course has been widely-regarded as a great addition to the High Five Healthy Child Development course materials (available May 5th). The day will include a classroom portion and then CAN children will be on-site from 3-5pm and new coaches will work with these children under the guidance of CAN learning facilitators.
This course is available for grant recipients as their 2nd day of training. To learn more about pursuing an iRide Development Grant and creating your own community program, please click here.
