Ride Leader Training
This combination theory/practical workshop is designed to help you lead weekly rides at your adult club. The module includes a 2-hour education call via ZOOM and concludes with a 3-hour outdoor skills session and practice ride. To achieve certification, submit your journal and EAP within seven days of our practice ride.
This provisional booking is available for all Cycling BC members, but to confirm the event, we need five registrants by March 27th.

- Ride Leader Responsibilities (Route Plan, Pre-Ride Briefing)
- Emergencies (Stoplight Method + What IFs)
- Safety and Hazards (Road & Trail)
- Communication (Signals, Etiquette, Formations)
- Outdoor Practice Ride (Everyone gets a chance to lead)
Schedule:
- April 3 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm (Education Call via Zoom) (Date subject to change)
- April 6 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm (Outdoor Ride @ Kitsilano TBC)
Next Steps:
- Register and use the Ride Leader Journal to complete the pre-reading
- Upload our route map to your bike computer: Route Maps
- Submit your Ride Leader Journal to coaching@cyclingbc.net within seven days of the outdoor ride.
- Upon review, we’ll send you a congratulatory email and invite you to [optionally] convert to a UCI Technical License: Ride Leader to get your certificate.
