The Snowden Trail Challenge takes place in the Snowden Demonstration Forest, a vast network of scenic double track and single track trails, just outside of Campbell River. This year’s event takes place on September 6, 2015 and offers three distances 14k, 25k and 50k. Challenge yourself to run, bike or bike and run, there is also a team category for the 50k distance. This incredible scenic route varies from dense forest to open rock bluffs. It is unique and challenging, an unforgettable trail running/riding experience.
Course Description
The 50 k is an intermediate level two loop bike/run course comprising some road and mainly single track trails. Including Grilled Cheese, Mudhoney Pass, Lost Lake, Riley Lake, Lookout Loop and Frog Legs.
The 50 k distance can be a solo trail run, solo mountain bike, or mountain bike relay, run relay or combination run/bike relay.
The 25k is an intermediate level single loop bike or run course comprising some road and mainly single track trails. Including Grilled Cheese, Mudhoney Pass, Lost Lake, Riley Lake, Lookout Loop and Frog Legs.
The 14k is a beginner trail run on road and single track trail on the Lost Frog Loop. Nice flowing trails with some hills, great for a first trail run.
