Whistler Canadian Open – Downhill Canada Cup

Straight down, no mercy. The Canadian Open DH presented by iXS course is a one run take-down of Whistler’s rooty single-track. This technical test-piece calls for blazing guns and laser focus, and is open to both Elite and Junior Expert UCI licensed and unlicensed riders. Staged on the final weekend of Crankworx, this is one of the biggest events, attracting elite downhill experts from around the world. Grab your spot on the track and don’t miss out!

ENTRY FEE:
Pro Elite & Junior Expert Categories: $90 CAD + taxes and fees
Amateur Categories: $80 CAD + taxes and fees

Lift tickets for Whistler Mountain Bike Park are not included in the entry fee.

FIELD LIMIT: 300 riders
No special provisions are made for Canada Cup Series racers, or others, in the event that the race sells out.

ONSITE CHECKIN:
Preregistered riders need to check in at the Athlete Centre (Aava Hotel) to complete waiver / collect race plates.  Discounted lift tickets are also available for training and race days.

Racers in the Elite and Junior Expert category also need to do a license check with the Race Secretary from the Canadian Cycling Association.

LICENSES:
Only Elite and Junior Expert UCI licence holders can register in the Elite and Junior Expert categories.
Unlicensed riders can sign up in the Amateur age classes.

UCI and Canada Cup points are available for Elite Men/Women, Junior Expert Men/Women.

PROTECTION RULES:
Full face helmet with peak mandatory for all riders.

Gloves, elbow and knee protection mandatory for riders 15 and under.

COURSE: 
Start with Joyride exit to the left and proceed towards the lift tower that is just below the Schleyer drop continue down the Fitzsimmons Chair lift line, cross Old Olly. Join into the Canadian Open Dh course across the Mountain Road below 1.0 mileage marker over the road gap, across the flats and then enter the Lower Canadian Open DH course to the finish.
