EXPERIENCE IN CYCLING AND VOLUNTEER COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS
I have done a variety of volunteer work, from being a photographer for end-of-life infants at Vancouver Women's hospital, to interviewing the stakeholders and writing a financial policy for a non-profit organization protecting women from violence in Botswana.
Currently, I am an ambassador with Liv Cycling Vancouver, organizing and leading women's weekly road and gravel rides and a variety of clinics (novice, bikepacking, bike maintenance, etc).
ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE
I am a partner of a national accounting firm of over 7,000 team members. My practice area is tax, with a focus on working with Indigenous clients. Having been in the senior management and partnership positions for over 10 years, I have developed the skills to prioritize objectives, invest in the long term growth of team members, and helping my clients thrive. In my prior life as the administrator of a non-profit organization, I worked with budgeting, cashflow analysis, payroll, event and conference organization, and fundraising.
HOW DO YOU THINK YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO CYCLING BC’s BOARD OF DIRECTORS?
From my line of work, my strength lies in financial management, policy and business development. From my involvement with Liv Cycling Vancouver, I have the perspective of what a recreational cyclist is looking for in resources and support to further develop their love for cycling, and ideas to make local races fun and inviting. From a personal perspective, I would like to invest my time in growing the sport to be inclusive of all gender, ethnic background, and sexual orientation.
