It has been brought to our attention that the qualification system for the 2012 BC Cup series wasn’t very clear. The qualification reads as follows:
Qualification:
- Top 4 of 8 Races + Finals count towards year-end number plates and overall awards.
- Must race the Finals to be eligible to earn number plates and awards
- Finals are double-points
- Year end award plates 1 – 8 by Class
While it was our intention to have athletes race a minimum of 4 events plus the finals to qualify for year-end ranking. In some cases it has been interpreted as the total points score came from the top 4 events plus finals, but athletes only had to race the finals to receive year-end ranking.
Cycling BC has corrected the year-end ranking to include all athletes competing in the finals and will honour their ranking. We apologize for any confusion this has caused, thank you.
