Cycling BC to Host Development Camps on Vancouver Island: Coal Hills and Oceanside BMX Track

Cycling BC is expanding the development camps to all BMX tracks in BC.  Our goal is to provide all athletes with the opportunity to develop with training by our Provincial, Development Coaches and Club Coaches.

     When: Saturday, June 1 2013; 1pm to 5pm

     When: Sunday, June 2 2013; 9am-1pm

Junior Camp (athletes 11 years and older)

      When: Sunday, June 2 2013; 2pm – 5pm

 

 

 

Information About Cycling BC’s Youth and Junior Camps

Youth Development Camp: U11

Youth Development Camps are for athletes under 11 years of age.  The camp takes place in a 3-4 hour block where athletes will learn and develop their bike handling skills.  Participants in the Youth Development Camps are required to use flat pedals only, as the focus of the camps are skill based allowing for the athletes to focus on the basic components of a skill.

Entre Fee: $25

 

Junior Development Camp: 11-14

Junior Development Camps are for athletes between 11 and 14 years of age.  The camp takes place in a 3-4 hour block where athletes will work on expanding and developing their current skills and race tactics.  Participants in the Junior Development Camp will use flat and clip pedals.  All skill-based exercises will be on flat pedals and speed-based exercises will be on clip pedals.  Flat pedals allow the athletes to focus on the basic components of a skill.
