Cycling Canada is coordinating a National Level BMX Commissaire in conjunction with a BEM Sec/Admin operator course. The course is scheduled to take place before the BMX Canadian Championships on August 21-23 in Saint Albert, AB. The course will be presented in English by Loyal Ma, UCI Designated Track Course Instructor assisted by Lyndon Downing the BEM creator.
Thursday August 22
-National BMX Theory Component, Presented by Loyal Ma
Friday August 23
-Advanced BEM/Secretary Component, Presented by Lyndon Downing
Saturday August 24 & Sunday August 25
-Practical experience at the track with running the BEM system for the event and actual track experience with Lyndon & Loyal.
(note that Loyal intends to run a Basic BEM course for local tracks on Wed Aug 21
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
In order to be considered a candidate for National Commissaire, the person must be a minimum of 18 years of age at time of application. The person must also have held the status of Provincial A Level Commissaire in the applied cycling sport for a minimum of 2 years.
The person shall also have received a favorable review from the Provincial Chief Commissaire, or other provincially recognized competent authority for commissairing matters, in the province/territory in which they reside.
REGISTRATION PROCEDURE:
Eligible candidates that are interested in participating should email Elizabeth Kiraly Elizabeth.kiraly@cyclingcanada.ca. Commissaries selected for the course will be sent final details, including exact dates, location and a course outline.
Registration fee: $100.00
We require a minimum of 6 candidates to hold the course and registration will be capped at a maximum of 12 candidates.
The deadline to express interest is August 10th 2013.
ACCOMMODATION & TRAVEL:
Candidates are responsible for their own costs and arrangements associated with travel, accommodation and meals. However, CC will most likely have hotel rooms blocked off at a discounted rate.
