Under cloudy skies the BMX Development team found some sunshine for Sunday’s training camp at Ridge Meadows BMX this past weekend. This being the team’s first training camp for the outdoor season, all the athletes seemed excited to stretch out their legs and sharpen their skills for a summer full of racing. Coach Mischa Partridge shared that the focus for this session was on full laps, and carrying their speed. While the program’s main objectives are skill development and race preparation, in today’s session this group of 11-13 year olds showcased just why they are the top riders of their age groups. “I am very impressed by the skill level of this team!” remarked Mischa Partridge. “I put them through the paces today, and the effort and enthusiasm I saw on the track really says it all.”
Joining the coaching force today was current High Performance Team member Aiden Webber. The team also got to learn jumping from one of the best in the business, BMX legend, Nate Berkheimer.
While the BC Cup series get underway shortly, the team will be back together for training camp number three in mid May.
