Five BC cyclists are in Rio for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games right now: Laura Brown (Vancouver), Jasmin Glaesser (Vancouver), and Georgia Simmerling (West Vancouver) will be representing Canada on the velodrome; Tory Nyhaug (Coquitlam) is Canada’s sole BMX athlete at the games this year; and Catharine Pendrel (Kamloops) will be riding for Canada in the cross-country mountain bike competition.
