Pedal Magazine recently announced the winners of their 2017 Cycling Awards and BC athletes were among the best in class. Vancouver’s Jasmin Duehring won the Best Overall Senior/U23 Female Cyclist while Maggie Coles-Lyster of Maple Ridge won Best Overall Junior Female Cyclist.
The Men’s Team Pursuit squad won the Best Track Senior Cyclist category. The team consist of Adam Jamieson, Aidan Caves (Vancouver), Jay Lamoureux (Victoria), Bayley Simpson, Derek Gee, and Ed Veal.
Tory Nyhaug of Coquitlam defended his Best BMX Cyclist title while Downhill World Champion and Miranda Miller from Squamish won the Best MTB DH Senior Cyclist. Miller also won the Best Canadian Cycling Moment/Performance for her world championship-winning performance which gave Canada its 1st elite downhill mountain bike world title in 27 years.
