The Glotman•Simpson Cypress Challenge took place this past Sunday, in memory of Darren Latoski, and benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation. With your help, Glotman•Simpson Cycling Club hosted a record 675 riders and raised an amazing $425,000 to advance pancreatic cancer research. Over eight years, total donations raised have surpassed $1.629 million.
This year’s event will help an exciting new Pancreas Centre BC clinical trial open as oncologists and scientists collaborate to genetically sequence the tumours of pancreatic cancer patients as a means to individualize treatment. Each patient’s cancer has a unique underlying blueprint and this research initiative, PanGen, hopes to identify unique molecular biomarkers that will result in more effective treatments for patients facing pancreatic cancer. Your efforts mean hope for patients in the clinic tomorrow.
