The following cycling NCCP opportunities for coach development will be offered in December and January!
NCCP “Let’s Ride” Community Cycling Coach
When: December 16, 2012, 0900-1700h
Where: Cycling BC Office 201-210 W Broadway Vancouver
NCCP Learning Facilitator: Conan Cooper
Cost: $85
Applicant Requirements: This course is open to all.
Description: This is a condensed informative session covering basics of planning and safety when working with youth in cycling. Participants will discuss issues faced by parents, volunteers, and program leaders in community cycling contexts. Basics of setting up a session, planning for safety, teaching & leading youth, and instruction of cycling skills will be introduced. Participants who complete the session will be accredited in the cycling NCCP as Community Coach – Trained. A minimum of 6 registrations are needed to hold the session. Some pre-session study is required. Participants must come with a bike and be prepared for riding outdoors in an enclosed area.
NCCP “Ready to Race” BMX Skills & Tactics
When: January 26, 2013, 1100-1700h
Where: Abbotsford Indoor BMX Track (7-32470 Haida Dr Abbotsford, BC)

Cost: $85
Applicant Requirements: This course is open to all. Its Recommended to have taken one of the following prior: Training Basics workshop (formerly named Part A), NCCP “Let’s Ride” Community Cycling Coach, or NCCP level 1
Description: This is the Cycling Canada NCCP training for coaches interested in teaching the basics skill of BMX to novice and intermediate riders. Participants will discuss issues that come up for volunteers, parents, and program leaders when presenting learn to race sessions at a track. Training will include setting up a session, planning for safety, teaching & leading youth, and instruction of basic BMX skills and tactics. Participants who complete the session will be accredited in the cycling NCCP as BMX Skills & Tactics – Trained. A minimum of 6 registrations are needed to hold the session. Some pre-session study is required. Participants must come with a bike and be prepared for riding.
