National Track & BMX-R Commissaire Course | Winter 2024 / 205

Cycling Canada is offering a National Commissaire Course for both TRACK and BMX-R disciplines, following the recently launched National Commissaire Development Pathway. The course offers National Commissaire training in a multi-delivery method using online, virtual and in-person training. The initial phases of the course work consisting of the online and virtual classes are to be completed over late 2024/early 2025. The location and timing of the in-person sessions will be determined after the virtual training.

This training program will be led by several experienced commissaires including:

  • Geordie Ma, BMX-R IC (Development Pathway Lead)
  • François Lévesque, BMX-R ENC
  • Chris Bullivant, BMX-R IC
  • Adrien Levesque, TRACK IC
  • Mike Pinkoski, TRACK IC
  • Steve Head, TRACK ENC

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

To be considered a candidate for National Commissaire in TRACK or BMX-R, the individual must have held the status of Provincial Level A Commissaire in the applied cycling sport for at least 2 years.

The person shall also have received a favorable review from the Provincial Chief Commissaire, or other provincially recognized competent authority for commissairing matters, in the province/territory in which they reside.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE:

Eligible candidates must complete the linked application form. Any questions regarding registration can be directed by email to Cycling Canada’s staff member Alex Joubert at alex.joubert@cyclingcanada.ca.

Registration fee: $250.00 CAD

Deadline to register is November 24, 2024.

Candidates will receive confirmation as registrations are received and approved by the Cycling Canada Official’s Committee.

DEC 9th to FEB 3rd Completion of Online UCI E-learning modules (~20 hours)

2025 In person training/evaluation at national level event.

COURSE LOCATION:

Virtual. Specific location of in-person training to be determined.

ACCOMMODATION & TRAVEL:

Candidates are responsible for their own costs and arrangements associated with travel, accommodation and meals for the in-person portion of the training. We anticipate providing training opportunities that minimize travel requirements for candidates, including the possibility of training sessions on both the eastern and western sides of the country. We will communicate this information as it is confirmed.
