Cycling BC and Concord Pacific are excited to announce the Tour de Concord on Sunday, August 22, 2021, happening on the grounds of Concord Metrotown – a master-planned community with unparalleled bike amenities at the heart of downtown Burnaby.
The Tour de Concord will consist of a bike festival including an iRide youth cycling zone for kids, live music, bbq, prize draws, vendors, bike demos, free tune-ups, and more. With the help of M1 Sports Management who has led the way for other top-notch events such as BC Superweek, the Tour de Concord will feature a criterium race on a closed course bordering the future home of Concord Metrotown. Racers will contend for racing glory and cash prizes totalling up to $5,000.
This collaboration between Concord Pacific and Cycling BC also celebrates a newly established partnership between the two organizations. Concord Pacific has come on board as Cycling BC’s newest sponsor and proceeds from race registrations will be donated and matched by Concord Pacific towards Cycling BC’s iRide youth cycling and high performance athlete programs.
“Cycling BC is grateful to have Concord Pacific as a partner and we support their vision to make their communities the most bike-friendly places to live,” says Erin Waugh, CEO of Cycling BC. “We’re looking forward to seeing everyone come out to this event to celebrate and support the future of cycling in our communities.”
Race registration for the Tour de Concord Metrotown Criterium is now open via CCN [for Cat 1/2 Men Elite/Jr/Masters, Cat 1/2/3 Women Elite/Jr/Masters, and a free Youth category]
