Vancouver Island-based rider, Emilly Johnston, from Comox, BC got bit by the cycling bug when she was just eight years old. She has since been tracking towards a pathway to the podium at every level and in multiple cycling disciplines including Canadian National Championship titles in cross-country mountain bike as a Junior in 2019 and again as a U23 rider in 2021. Emilly also made history in 2019 by winning the first-ever Junior Women’s Canadian Cyclocross Championship which she currently holds to this day.
Emilly has been an active member of Cycling BC’s High Performance mountain bike program for the past several years and has recently announced that she has signed with the Norco Factory Cross-country Mountain Bike Team for 2022.
