National Elite Road Commissaire course

USA Cycling is coordinating a National Elite Road Commissaire course scheduled to take place in Colorado Springs next march. The course will be presented in English by Wayne Pomario, UCI Designated Road Course Instructor. Cycling Canada secured a few spots for eligible Canadian commissaires.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

In order to be considered a candidate for National Elite Road course, the person must also hold the status of National Commissaire in the applied cycling sport. However, the CCOC could grant an exemption for experienced national or UCI commissaire in another discipline

The person shall be recommended for the course by their PSO. Cycling Canada’s official committee will review all relevant applications and will prioritize the different candidates based on the following:

-Potential of becoming a UCI Road commissaires

-Experience and availabilities as a National Road commissaires

-Geographical need

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Eligible candidates must complete the attached application form and return it to Cycling Canada before November 10th.

Candidates will receive confirmation of their acceptance before December 1st

REGISTRATION FEE: Cycling Canada will cover the registration fee for the course

ACCOMMODATION & TRAVEL:

Candidates are responsible for their own costs and arrangements associated with travel, accommodation and meals. CC is exploring the availability of affordable room rates at a local hotel.

Regarding the qualification as Elite National Commissaire:

–     From 1st January 2014, any candidate wishing to participate in the pre-selection exams for the international course should be able to benefit from the qualification as Elite National Commissaire.

–     The  qualification  of  “Elite  National  Commissaire”  will  be  obtained  after  having followed a course and achieved an exam for “Elite National Commissaires”, homologated by the UCI, for which the UCI is appointing an instructor.
