Pumpkin Cross is almost here and things are shaping up to be another classically-spooky fun cyclocross event. This year’s event is scheduled for Sunday, October 30th at the North Alouette Greenway Park in Maple Ridge, BC. Pumpkin Cross is also the 5th race in the BC Premier Cross Series.
The course is in great shape and with the rain scheduled to give way to sunshine on Sunday this means you could be playing in the mud under blue skies.
Sponsors have again brought their “A-Game” to this year’s event. Giant Bicycles is secretly preparing some theme-driven props, along with prizing and support from Liv Canada. Kicking Horse Coffee will have delicious samples and prizes. Cycles Lambert has supplied the prizes for the costume contest with TaG Cycling and BBB adding additional prizes to the pool.
The Liv Canada women’s cyclocross clinic is back by popular demand and will be happening on October 29. The clinic will be lead by Liv Canada pro racer Sandra Walter, who will teach you the skills to make you race-day ready. There is also a special package for First Time Women Racers which includes the clinic, race and one-day race license. On race day there is racing for all, from kids on run bikes to elite pros.
Pre-registration is on a record pace and closes Oct 28th at 11:59pm. It is strongly encouraged to pre-register which will save you $10 over day-of registration. Anyone with a VCXC timing chip is requested to bring it to the race. Please check the race starts on the race website as they start earlier than the other BC races.
Thanks to Cycling BC, City of Maple Ridge and the Maple Ridge Equestrian Centre for supporting this event.
