2024 BC Track Provincial Championships
We are currently in discussions with the Burnaby Velodrome Club regarding this year’s 2024 BC Track Cycling Provincials. With the success of last year’s provincials in December, we are once again aiming for a second straight year of Track Provincials in December as a lead-up to the Canadian National Elite/Masters/Para Track Championships being held from January 9-12, 2025 in Bromont, Quebec. Stay tuned for further updates.
No 2024 BC Provincial Crit Championships
It is with regret that Cycling BC announces that there will be no Criterium Provincial Championships in 2024. Many factors contributed to the difficult decision, including the challenging task of finding a qualified host late in the season while still providing sufficient notice for the racing community. The limited number of weekends that didn’t conflict with other races on the calendar was also a major constraint. Unfortunately, it’s clear now that this year’s crit provincial championship won’t take place at this late point in the season. We know this has been disappointing and we are committed to planning well in advance for the upcoming year.
Looking ahead to the 2025 Season
We are working on creating the provincial race calendar for 2025 early to avoid scheduling conflicts and ensure that all events are considered well in advance. It is a complex process involving various factors such as the timing of other local, national, and international events, the availability of venues, and the coordination of all event organizers involved in the process.
Ultimately, our goal is to create an exciting calendar of events across the different cycling disciplines and provide the community with lots of notice and opportunities to participate in these events.
