Today was the US Cup cross-country race in Fontana. I am really happy with my performance, I felt like I road well, was mentally well prepared and not effected by distractions. I think having the first race out of the way and learning from last week’s mistakes was vital in today’s success. The rest of the team had a good day as well with multiple podiums in the Super-D; it is awesome to see teammates on the podium. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the team staff and sponsors for making this possible.

Today was easily the most tiring day so far this week. We had the cross country US Cup in Fontana, then the Super D a few hours later. I felt pretty good about my cross country race, I was able to accomplish most of the goals that I had set for myself. Compared to last weeks race I felt much more prepared for Fontana, mostly mentally, as well as what to expect for myself physically. I really enjoyed the Super D; it was very much a course to my style as there was technical riding with a hard punch towards the end. The Fontana course itself was quite a bit of fun, and I’m stoked that we got to ride there. I now know what I need to work on for this season, and I’m looking forward to getting it done! Thank you to the Cycling BC sponsors and supporters for making camps like these possible!

Today was race day for the Downhill racers at Fontana, I felt very good and well prepared coming into this race. Their was tons of practice time so I was able to get most of my lines perfect. One of my goals was to not crash, and I managed to achieve this. On my race run I went a little too hard off the start and ended up missing a few key lines. Aside from my beginning hiccup, I had an awesome run, I felt great and scared myself a bit from how much faster I was able to get going for my race run. I put out a solid effort today and managed to come 5th– a podium finish. It’s been a great week of racing, riding, and training. A big thank to all the sponsors and supporters that help make these training camps possible.
