Local Ride Racing has stepped up to host the 2021 BC Road Provincial Championships at their Hatzic Valley Road Race on August 15th. After a 2-year hiatus due to Covid-19, the BC racing community is excited to be back racing on the road with a provincial championship race to cap off Local Ride Racing’s condensed season.
The Hatzic Valley Road Race is currently the third and final road race in a shortened 4-week road racing season for event organizer Barry Lyster. Local Ride Racing kicked off the long-awaited racing season with Jeremy’s Roubaix in Pitt Meadows on July 18, 2021, which was followed by the Thornhill Circuit Race in Maple Ridge this past Sunday, August 1st.
“I am pleased to be able to offer these races and to be able to use Hatzic Valley for this year’s BC Road Champs. Organizing bike races at this time is not easy and, in some cases, not possible. It is great to have the support of the cycling community, alongside clubs like Escape Velocity who have been such an integral part in keeping bike racing alive in BC,” comments race organizer Barry Lyster.
Following the Hatzic Valley Road Race on August 15th, Local Ride Racing will be switching from pavement to gravel for Rock the Ridge and Jailhouse Rock on August 28th and 29th.
