Upon notice from the event organizer, Chainline Cycle in Kelowna, Cycling BC would like to announce that the 2021 BC Cyclo-cross Provincial Championships will not be held in Kelowna this year.
As a result of rising Covid-19 case numbers in the Interior Health region, uncertainty about the future of hosting large events in Kelowna, and concerns about inviting non-essential travel to a hot spot for Covid-19 cases, the event organizer with the support of Cycling BC, has confirmed that they will not be able to host the provincial championships in Kelowna.
Cycling BC is still planning to have Cyclo-cross Provincial Championships for 2021 and is actively looking for an alternative host and venue. Once a new host, venue, and date have been confirmed, Cycling BC will make an announcement.
Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding during these uncertain times. Cycling BC would also like to take this opportunity to commend our dedicated local event organizers who continue to keep the interest of public health and safety at the forefront of what they do.
