Participants will ride up Cypress Mountain beginning at the junction of Cypress Bowl Road and Cypress Lane and finishing at the Cypress Mountain Lodge. Again this year there will be two rides, one on the 17 km road (course map) and another on the 11 km BLT mountain bike trail, a medium grade logging road with some steep sections, (course map). This affords a unique opportunity for the different biking communities to participate in the same event.
Challenge yourself or your team! Great prizes will be given to the fastest individuals and teams and of course to the top fundraisers.
Register Early and Save. The registration fee is $40 for early bird registration received on or before May 21st and $50 after May 21st. Participants are asked to raise a suggested minimum of $100 in pledges. Tax receipts are available for pledges of $30 or more. (Riders must be 13 or older.)
After the ride: Join family and friends for an Event Expo and a free pancake breakfast at Cypress Mountain Lodge from 9:30 until 11:30. You will have an opportunity to speak with North Shore Rescue volunteers and inspect their vehicles and rescue equipment. You can also enjoy a massage or get official individual or team photos taken.
Raffle: Bring cash to buy raffle tickets for prizes such as Arc’Teryx jackets and Recon Jet Sports glasses. See the Rotary Ride for Rescue Facebook page for information about the prizes.
Event Details: Check-in on June 11th at Mulgrave School from 7:30 to 8:45. New this year, there will be self-seeded start at 9 am at Cypress Bowl Road with four sections: (1) under 45 minutes, (2) 45 – 60 minutes, (3) 60 minutes and over, and (4) mountain or off-road cyclists.
Fundraising Proceeds: 100% of the funds raised through pledges and rider registrations will support North Shore Rescue and Rotary projects.
