Hi! I am Natasha Lockey of Kootenay Mountain Biking and this year I am excited to offer a new youth cycling program in Warfield! This program works in unison with our existing programs and is perfect for youth riders new to biking and want to try it out before making any larger commitments.
Our new program offers a fun, safe and memorable community after-school program available to local participants aged 7-12 with an iRide skill level of 3-5. As recipients of a Cycling BC iRide Development Grant with support from the Columbia Basin Trust “Basin PLAYS” Initiative, my team of leaders and I have undergone NCCP-training with Cycling BC to help us utilize both the iRide skills and Sprockids skills curriculum and help your child build confidence, foster friendships and develop beginner and intermediate bicycle skills. Our coaching team also includes Ian Lockey. All sessions are covered by Cycling BC’s insurance policy with Jones Brown.
Our sessions plan to stay close to town, utilizing the pump track, open grass fields and recreational parks to practice skills. In the future, as riders progress through Cycling BC skill ability levels, riders can try out one of KMB’s other programs.
If your child enjoys their iRide Sprockids experience, perhaps we’ll see you one of Cycling BC’s Youth Clubs!
