Hi! I am Adrian Pettyfer and I am excited to start an after-school youth road cycling group in the Tri-Cities area this spring! I love riding my road bike and am excited to share my riding experiences with the next generation.
This year’s program includes 4 sessions and offers a fun, safe and memorable community after-school program available to local participants aged 14-18 with a skill level of 5+. As a recipient of a Cycling BC iRide Development Grant, I have undergone NCCP-training with Cycling BC, and have learned how to utilize the iRide skills curriculum and help your child build confidence, create a fun environment and develop intermediate and advanced bicycle skills.
Our sessions plan to start near the school and work on skills before building up to group riding activities on safe nearby roads, including the Pitt Meadows airport area or local Coquitlam hills. All sessions are covered by Cycling BC’s insurance policy with Jones Brown.
This 4-week learn-to-ride program covers a variety of topics that involve all aspects of riding. Participants will learn riding techniques such as uphill, downhill, tight turns, braking, gearing, and how to properly adjust their bike to fit themselves. If your child enjoys their iRide Community experience, they can continue their cycling through an iRide Summer Camp or with a local Youth Club.
