BMX Club Coach Training – 2022 Spring Cohort

To help BMX clubs across British Columbia access instructor and coach training we are combining 3 NCCP modules into 1 purchase.

Our province is gifted with many BMX experts who are already doing great work in their communities. Mischa and I are so excited to create an opportunity to bring these experts together, learn from one another, improve our teaching abilities, and head into 2022 with greater confidence. – Ben Chaddock, Head of Coach Development

Coaches with previous training can register for one or more of the 3 modules (Club Theory A, Basic Skills, BMX Skills), contact Cycling BC to inquire about previous accreditation. New coaches must participate in all 3 modules.

This program is organized and facilitated by Cycling BC. Ben Chaddock and Mischa Partridge are co-teaching the theory module, and Mischa Partridge is facilitating the outdoor weekend sessions.

Basic Requirements:

Modules included:

  • Club Theory A (Skills & Tactics Theory)
  • Basic Skills
  • BMX Skills

Module Details

Club Theory A (official title: Skills & Tactics Theory) helps you learn how to teach skills and run a BMX club practice for participants in the “Learn to Train” and “Train to Train” stages of the Long Term Development. Participants work through various individual and small group activities to prepare a BMX practice plan. The module is facilitated online over 4 x 2.5-hour sessions. Participants are expected to attend and actively participate in each session. Please ensure that your video and microphone are working well and that you have completed the pre-event homework (included in your registration confirmation email). Participants who miss a session can watch the recording but must submit their assignment before the next session.
