Hi! I am Glen Polson and I am excited to offer a balance-bike program for our community’s youngest cyclists! Each program includes six 30-minute sessions and offers a fun, safe and memorable community after-school program available to local participants aged 2-5 with skill level 0 (we call them “Gazelles”). As a recipient of a Cycling BC iRide Development Grant, I have undergone NCCP-training with Cycling BC and Sprockids, and have learned how to utilize both the iRide skills and Sprockids skills curriculum and help your child build confidence, create a fun environment and develop intermediate and advanced bicycle skills.
Our sessions plan to stay close to the SEAPARC leisure complex, utilizing local features and easy green trails to practice skills. All sessions are covered by Cycling BC’s insurance policy with Jones Brown.
Participants will learn basic physical literacy skills pertaining to cycling, including balancing, turning and stopping with their balance bike. If your child enjoys their iRide experience, children can practice their pedaling skills and join our Level 3-5 programs in future years.
I would also like to acknowledge our program’s sponsors and host location, SEAPARC Leisure Complex. Thanks to their support, we have been able to further reduce the cost of this program and make it more accessible to new bike riders! Thank you for your contribution!
Weekly updates will be available for participants via a facebook group. Participants will be invited after they complete registration (View Group)
