Cycling BC’s iRide program is finalizing its 2016 strategy and as we move into a more sustainable model, our expansion wouldn’t be possible without the support of donors like you. This support ranges from monetary donations to tangible assets that our graduating students can use to create an enjoyable cycling experience. Over the course of the past year, iRide has received a wide array of donation bicycles and clothing from our membership and the local cycling community. These donations go a long way in helping iRide make cycling as accessible as possible to youth in BC.
Most recently La Bicicletta Pro Shop made a second large donation of clothing and accessories for our after-school and summer camp students. Graham Fox called Cycling BC iRide Coordinator Ben Chaddock back in February and donated a large collection of clothing. Ben and our iRide coaches report that the students loved it! This week, Graham called again to announce that a collection of helmets, shoes and kit were available. Ben and the team are very excited to share these items with well-deserving students next year. Thank you Graham and all staff at Vancouver’s La Bicicletta Pro Shop!
Cycling BC members are also able to donate lightly used clothing to our youth programs. Recently a member in Squamish made a generous donation to the program:
It is common to see some of the native-BC pro racers donating kit to our youth racers as they are no longer allowed to wear their older kits, however it is something very different to see a Cycling BC member donate such a beautiful collection of kit, as Julian Allen from Squamish did last week, says Ben. Julian has been very generous is sharing a collection of well-crafted and unique items, ranging from thick winter jackets to leggings and accessories. These items will also be awarded to well-deserving students as part of iRide’s after-schools and summer camp programs in 2016. Thank you Julian!

If you would like to donate a lightly used bicycle sized to fit a student aged 8-14 years of age, Cycling BC’s iRide program is accepting donations. We are however limiting our donations to bicycles that fit a youth rider.
If you live outside the Lower Mainland, iRide coaches in the following areas are also in need of donation bicycles for their in-school programs: Comox, Victoria, Kamloops, Armstrong, Cranbrook, Trail, Castlegar. Please contact ben@cyclingbc.net to organize a donation.
If you are interested in sponsoring an iRide program in your area, please contact us now as we finalize our 2016 schedule. You can reach our iRide coordinator Ben Chaddock at ben@cyclingbc.net.
