This Sunday was our last day of racing.  Unlike the XCO race on Saturday, yesterday’s race was a complete opposite.  Saturdays race was over an hour, with multiply technical climbs and descents.  Where Sunday’s race was completed within twenty minutes.  There were no technical descents or climbs – which played to my favour.  It was a really exiting race because it was full on, using all your speed and power  to slowly pick off and pass the athletes in front of you.  By the end of the race I ended up fourth in the Jr. Ex women, narrowly missing the podium spot.  I was satisfied at the time with my results, but now I’m wishing I had even more speed and power to pass just one more girl – but now I have a new goal for my next competition.  Thanks too all our supports and sponsors for giving me the opportunity to have such a great experience.

Yesterday was the final day of racing of the Canada Cup trip with the short track/crit race. The course was around a campground on a gravel path with tons of passing opportunities. It was a 17-minute plus 2 laps format with the pros and junior ex starting together. I managed to get 5th in junior ex – a definite high note for the the trip.  I am happy with the results I posted in Quebec and am excited to come home and race some of the local races like the Nimby 50 and the Test of Metal before gearing up for Canada Cup #3 and Nationals in Ontario in July. I would like to thank Cycling BC and everyone that made this Quebec trip possible.

Yesterday was our last day of racing and a great day to cap off our Quebec trip.  Coming out of the XC race on Saturday my legs were a little bit tired so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I ended up having a really god race and finished in 2nd place for the Junior Expert Men. This race was a much shorter crit style race. It was under 20 minutes and all out the whole time.  It was my first time taking part in a race this style and I really enjoyed it. I am happy with my Race Results throughout the trip.  I was 6th in the Mount Tremblant Canada Cup, 5th In the Baie Saint Paul Canada Cup, and 2nd in the Baie Saint Paul Short track. All in all the trip was a huge success and I am very excited to continue racing and training throughout the summer. Thanks to everyone that make these racing opportunities possible!
