Ride Like a Girl is a BC based mountain bike mentorship and bursary program supporting up and coming young female racers under the age of 20 years old. All funds raised from this campaign will go to bursaries for girls in the cross-country and downhill mountain bike disciplines to assist with race costs and entry fees in 2015, and travel costs for the girls to ride with their mentors.
Ride Like A Girl will be providing four girls with mentorship opportunities with pro athletes, and two bursaries valued at $500 each. The recipients will be announced in April. Each program participant will be matched with a mentor who is an elite level professional mountain bike athlete in their cycling discipline. Their mentor will take them riding, and touch base with them throughout the season to help answer questions, help with race preparation and strategy, and provide support.

For each $10 donation that you make to Ride Like a Girl, you will get one entry in a draw to win an all inclusive three-day trip for two from Vancouver Island to the Discovery Islands or Desolation Sound Marine Park. Adventure West Sailing has teamed up with Ride Like a Girl to offer a sailing/kayaking or sailing/mountain bike tour in 2015. Choose from the Octupus Islands Marine Park, the Discovery Islands or Desolation Sound. Mountain bikers can also arrange for the trip to go to Hornby Island or Quadra Island for a combined sailing/mountain biking excursion. This is a trip of a lifetime that will introduce you to some of BC’s west coast jewels.
