The Richmond Flyers youth cycling team is seeking an Assistant Coach to help the club put more kids on bikes.
Role and Responsibilities
- New rider road skills assessment
- Committing to Cycling Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model & system
- Developing and executing training session plans for Richmond Flyers practices
- Potentially leading sessions for groups of new youth riders
- Introducing youth to the sport in a supportive and encouraging manner
- Assistant coaching at practices
- Coaching at race events
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- NCCP Level 1 coaching certification, community initiative.
- Understanding of learning principles; teaching certification an asset.
- Successful completion of a criminal record check.

- Patient, supportive and welcoming personality
- Organized and self-motivated
- Willing to be part of a team
- Able to teach and mentor across a wide range of ages and abilities
Remuneration per session monthly.
- Time commitment at least 2 days per week.
- Thursday and Saturday practices. Races until August 2018, with the possibility of extension during cyclocross season.
