April 13, 2012 (Maple Ridge, BC) – The 10th Annual Race the Ridge cycling stage race presented by Local Ride Bike Shop is excited to announce the addition of a separate Cat 4 men’s field to what will be a weekend of fun and challenging road racing in Maple Ridge, April 28-29.
“We listened to the racers who are aspiring to progress through the ranks and a lot of them really wanted the opportunity to race their own race,” said event organizer Barry Lyster. “Since the elimination of Cat 5 in BC, it’s been challenging to develop new racers into the sport.”
Race the Ridge has become increasingly popular and generates large enough fields that the addition of another category is possible. The change means the Cat 3 men will also have their own start. Organizers have limited the new Cat 4 field to 40 riders. Note that there will no day-of registration and the deadline to register is April 21 at 6:00pm.
